Thanks to Steve Smith of Pacific Llamas generosity, Jamesette Brown's loss of a llama on thin ice did not take the family out of the llama business. Jamesette's daughter and granddaughters join in the fun of sharing llamas with other and show llamas together. (Shown with Steve Smith in picture)
He gave Terri, Jeni and Martha each a registered Llama, for which they were VERY grateful! The Llama he gave Martha, Pacific's Gunner, took a blue at the Ozark Llama Classic, Terri's Pacific Spirit is busy guarding his heard of Pygmy goats and Jeni is proudly expecting a cria from Lil George next spring. Steve, you've got a great heart. Thanks again!

2009 ALSA Grand Champion Story for

Show Time Llamas & Alpacas‏

Show Time Llamas & Alpacas (ST) completed its first full show season in Lee's Summit.

After completing fourteen previous seasons in Lone Jack, ST moved to Lee's Summit in

order to respond to the growing need of families for alternative activities.

ST meets the needs of all types of children from the very athletic child to the child who

has autism and other disabilities.  In all cases llamas and alpacas bring out a love,

compassion and closeness for children uniquely uncommon in therapy activities

or sporting events.

The season finalized with National competition in Omaha last week involving hundreds

of animals and children competing in events such as showmanship, obstacle course,

public relations, animal judging, and pack. Ten children ranging in age from 12-18 years

old from ST competed and won eighteen prizes from 9th to 1st place.

The program for kids grew over 500% when moving to Lee's Summit, however,

due to the absence of public funding support and limited private support certain

financial restrictions curtailed the programs implementation.

Most of the accomplishments would not have been made without the support

of The Lee's Summit Autism Support Group, D&D Feed, Heaven's Gate Gospel Church,

Wheatfield Llamas and Jim Shaw Alpacas.
