Ozark Llama Classic 2010

OLC had another great sale and show. There were approximately 115 combined show entries, 31 farms representated from MO, TX, NE, MI, OK, CO, MT, KS, and IL. As you can see we had a good representation of States.

We had the usual lunch before the sale which is prepared on site by Larry Kisner, Bruce Chriso and Steve Smith. Of course, there were several helpers to serve the great lunch. Afterwards we had a walking fleece competition. We were pleased with the entries. Laura Harrawood deserves a very big THANK YOU for judging the fiber class. Laura also had a display of fiber products as well as represented the MLA.

Our tailgate party is always a big hit and this year we were pleased to have two sponsors, Terri Strouse and Bob Minto. They are already signed up to sponsor the Derby Hat Party next year prior to the Sale.

The sale animals were just shy of 50. The sale was good for the times. We had a new auctioneer this year. He worked hard to get the best dollars for the consignments.

Without Carol Rief and Sally Rucker the double show, ILR and ALSA, would not have run as smoothly. Carol kept all the points straight and Sally entertained as the announcer.

We are already making plans for 2011. The date is set for April 29, 30 and May 1.

We are changing a few things to make the weekend run even smoother than in prior years. We are planning to have a dinner on Friday eve instead of lunch on Sat. That would give more time to spend on the fiber portion and maybe add a new thing or two. We still need to make some decisions regarding the show portion. We will be sending out a questionnaire to the consignors and participants to get some insight from them.

All of us work hard to give you a great sale and show, and we also appreciate you for your continued support. Without you we would not have such a fun and successful weekend.

Thank You.
