Llama Carting…

Tim Kohloff

I would be happy to talk to anyone about Llama driving. I would even be happy to show them if they wanted to take it that far.

Driving Llamas does not have to be expensive. As I said my best Llama cost me $25. One of my carts cost $25 and the other $75. They were pony carts that for

$55 each were converted into Llama carts. My buggy ( 4 wheels) was custom designed and built in Humansville, Mo, by a man who knows nothing about Llamas or Llama carting. Of course you can buy expensive Llamas and carts if you want to.

I have a web site, www.putyourllamatowork.com. It is by no means professionally done. Someday I need to go in and edit and tweek it. The purpose of the website is to let people know how inexpensive Llama carting can be. I use my Llama to pull a sled. He also pulls small trees to the brush pile when clearing a fence line. They were a tremendous hit when we did our first craft show in Bolivar, Mo. Three weeks ago and took first place in the novelty part of the parade in Humansville, Mo. Two weeks ago. In both instances it was their first time being around large crowds of people, canopies and everything that goes along with craft shows and parades.

If going the inexpensive route like I have, the harness is the most expensive part.

I got an e-mail from Julie today at World of Weir and the Llama carting class is scheduled for March, 10, 2012. I am teaching the class as I did this past spring. If I under stand correctly, they already have it on their Three Sisters Website.

Thank U. Tim Kohloff
